Snooker Retiring

Karen has decided that the time has now come for Snooker to retire from carriage driving, as he can no longer take the hours of training that are required for top level competition.

She is therefore looking for a first class permanent loan home for him where he can enjoy hacking and a little dressage. For more details about Snooker see Karen’s Horses page. If you are able to offer him such a home, or know of someone who can, please contact Karen.

Horse Drawn Funeral Driven Unicorn

Karen provided a horse drawn hearse for a high profile funeral in Birmingham driving 3 grey horses.

It was the funeral of the man killed in Police custody 18 months ago and the family wanted 3 grey horses to pull the hearse. They were put together as a pair, with a single in front, which is known as driving Unicorn. This is not an easy style of driving, especially for a commercial outfit, but the horses never put a foot wrong and were going to sleep outside the church!

Horse Drawn Weddings

Karen will shortly be acquiring a horse drawn wedding carriage.

She is expanding into the horse drawn wedding carriage business and will be taking bookings for 2013. Look out for our new web page with photographs.

Six horse drawn hearses were used for the funerals of the children killed in a house fire.

Karen, in association with two business colleagues, was asked to organise horse drawn funerals for the six children killed in a house fire in Derby. It was a logistical headache to organise everything, but it went like clockwork on the day, thanks to the efforts of everyone involved.

Rex Repossesses His Stable

Rex has moved back into his stable.

Sooty, as the stray cat has been named, decided she wanted a little more privacy for herself and the kittens and so has moved them all, one by one, to the rug room. This is much to the delight of Rex, who has now moved back into his old stable.

21-22 April Catton Club Horse Driving Trial

Karen will be taking the pony team to compete in the Midlands Driving Trials Club event at Catton. She is also going to take her young horse team H/C for the experience.

Her Dressage times are 11.10 for the pony team and 17.10 for the horse team. Let’s hope the weather improves and we will post the results early next week.
